About
The problem we solve
Violent moves in equities rarely come from the chart itself. They come from four kinds of news arriving without warning:
- Macro data — NFP, CPI, PCE, GDP, PMI, retail sales: they set the rate path
- Central banks and officials — FOMC decisions, Powell's remarks, tariffs and fiscal policy: they move discount rates and risk premia
- Geopolitics — wars, strikes, sanctions, blocked shipping lanes: they hit energy and havens
- Regulation and credit events — antitrust, export controls, defaults, exchange blow-ups: they reprice whole sectors and liquidity
VolFlash puts all of it on a single timeline, decides whether a headline is worth your attention, and then answers four questions: how does it transmit → which assets are affected → what should you watch → what would prove this wrong.
What we don't do
- No stock picks, no price targets, no buy/sell instructions
- No managed accounts, no return promises, no "can't lose" strategies
- No invented numbers. When information is thin we say so explicitly
Under the hood
Pure Python standard library, no third-party dependencies, single-node SQLite (WAL). Collectors cover the GDELT global event stream, major financial RSS feeds and public economic calendars; the analysis layer is a pluggable engine that degrades gracefully to a rule-based mode. The frontend is server-rendered with SSE push — no build step.
Compliance
Our servers sit outside mainland China. Everything here is aggregated public information with technical commentary, aimed at readers who form their own judgements. Jurisdictions differ on what counts as investment advice — check your local rules before relying on this. See the disclaimer.
